Turnabouts

Turn it up! Turning is one of the most important concepts of driving. A driver could be turning out of another driver's way, turning into a parking spot, or just turning around. Either way, the information below will guide you to not only make the right turn, but also show you how to execute the turn correctly.

3-Point Turn (also known as K-Turn)

1. Choose a safe spot on the Right edge of the road.

2. Put Right blinker on and pull into the safe spot you chose.

3. Put Left blinker on, and check for traffic in all directions.

4. Move foward slowly while turning the wheel all the way Left.

5. Stop the vehicle when it's several inches from the Left curb or street
    edge. Double check for traffic.

6. Signal Right blinker, and back up slowly while turning the wheel all the
way Right. Stop several inches from the Right curb or street edge.

7. Signal Left blinker, and move foward while turning the wheel to the Left.

8. Straighten your wheels out into lane.

Note: Make sure to turn steering wheel while moving, no dry turns!

U-Turn

1. Choose safe spot on the right edge of the road.

2. Put Right blinker on and move into the safe spot you chose.

3. Put Left blinker on, and check for traffic in all directions.

4. Move foward slowly and turn the steering wheel all the way to the Left.

5. Continue the turn until you've turned around, and straighten out the
    vehicle into the lane.

Note: Do not make a U-Turn on a double-lined road!

2-Point Back-In (on Right)

1. Put Right blinker on and move into lane position number 3 (Right edge).

2. Check for traffic and make sure there are no cars on side street or
driveway that you are backing into.

3. Drive car past the driveway or side street so that the rear bumper is just
    beyond it.

4. Move backward slowly while turning the steering wheel to the Right.

5. Back car behind stopping reference point.

6. Put Left blinker on, and check for traffic again.

7. Turn Left and straighten out into new lane.
